COMMTECH-FASTCOM

Commtech-fastcom

From “The Wheel of Fortune” to the NASA Orion space program, Commtech has designed / manufactured PC boards and software for a broad range of customers. Commtech created the FASTCOM® product line of high speed communication adapters for the Industrial/Commercial customer – FASTCOM® is now used in mission-critical applications around the world.

Commtech, Inc. has been designing and manufacturing its own line of FASTCOM® communication adapters for Industrial/Commercial and OEM customers since its founding in 1985. We offer contract manufacturing of PC boards and off-the-shelf adapters that are reliable, high-performance, temperature and vibration tolerant, and electrically isolated. Commtech has been identified as a critical part of the DoD Command, Control, Communication, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) supply chain. Our role as a supplier of mission-critical components to the DoD increases our awareness of the requirements of our industrial/commercial customers. Commtech adapters are used on- and off-shore in industrial computer systems worldwide, in U.S. Postal Service sorting machines, satellite communications systems, submarines, locomotives, and military systems.

Commtech owns and maintains high speed production equipment for surface mount PC boards, through-hole PCB assembly, cable manufacturing, and production equipment for conformal coating. We manufacture and inspect to IPC A 610, Classes II and III and to all applicable DoD requirements. Our FASTCOM® products are CE compliant and are available in RoHS.

Manufacturing Logistics

Commtech is centrally located between Oklahoma City and Kansas City in Wichita, Kansas. Our component suppliers are primarily located in the Kansas City area and it’s typical to receive parts in a single day after order. There are no international delays in shipping and receiving. More significantly, company administration is not disrupted by offshore ownership communication delays.

Commtech is an extremely efficient manufacturer, competing successfully with larger offshore owned companies. We owe our efficiency to our common sense approach to “lean manufacturing” techniques and mastering the “just in time” component supply process. Our major asset, and the primary reason for our continued success, is our employees. The average employee at Commtech has been with the company for more than 15 years—which speaks for itself.

For more than 25 years, Commtech has proven its long term stability by practicing financial responsibility and a sustainable growth policy.

Made in America

We own our 30,000 sq. ft. building and manufacturing equipment – nothing is leased. For future expansion, we also own the land surrounding our building. As our customer’s needs grow, so can we.

We proudly display Made in USA on all of our products. Commtech is committed to seeking/developing domestic supplies of components and sub-assemblies and never outsourcing.
